HISTORY
The Old Hall, situated in Cheshire's Tatton Park dates back to 1490 and was originally a single-storey building; the Old Hall was once the heart of the Tatton Park Estate and is indeed its oldest building. Towards the end of the 1500's the original property was extended to form a more comfortable dwelling by adding a two-storey wing, and the estate was now owned by Sir Thomas Egerton, the then Lord Chancellor of England. It was about this period that Tatton Old Hall ceased being used as a manor house, but was very much still part of a large estate. The Old Hall was used as a farmhouse when the new Hall was completed at the beginning of the 1700's. Inside the Hall exudes a heady atmosphere and it gives you an all too real insight into how people used to live. The Old Hall is situated in a remote part of the estate, on the site of a 'disappeared village'; this area (outside the Old Hall) is also reputedly haunted.
Tatton Park and the Old Hall have been maintained by Cheshire County Council since the 1960's.

GHOSTS & HAUNTINGS
As far as reputations for being haunted go, Tatton Old Hall is right up there with the best, and with over 500 years of history associated with the building it's no wonder; some areas of Tatton Old Hall appear to be so haunted that dogs react strangely when passing, even to the point of refusing to enter.
THE WEEPING LADY
The forlorn figure of a weeping lady has been seen a number of times within the building, but she is heard on regular occasions, sobbing uncontrollably.
'ELEANOR' AND THE YOUNG GIRL
A matriarch (mediums have named her Eleanor) has been witnessed within the building, often accompanied by a young girl. She has been seen regularly.
THE DRUNK
The presence of a drunken man has been sensed by a number of people. He is described as being a violent woman-beater.
THE VICTORIAN LADY
The spectral form of a Victorian Lady has been seen stood in a doorway within Tatton Old Hall.
THE SHADOWY FIGURE
In the Gallery area of the Hall, a shadowy figure has been seen a number of times.
OTHER REPORTED INCIDENTS
Hair being pulled and feelings of being strangled
Unexplained noises, bangs and strange smells
Light anomalies
Cold spots.
Feelings of being watched.

YOUR DH EVENT INCLUDES:
Overnight investigation with the Dead Haunted team.
A brief explanation of investigation equipment before using it.
A familiarisation tour of the building in lit conditions prior to the lights going out.
Participation in vigils and paranormal experiments (participation is optional).
Snacks, refreshments and use of equipment will be provided throughout the event.
There will be a post investigation discussion of any paranormal activity encountered.
